My story ...
I've been to CM 6 and a half times. I was in Cancun once, Turks 5 times and I visited Sandpiper for a day a couple weeks ago. All within a two and a half year period. Obviously, for me Turks is my favorite (it's adult only AND has trapeze) One day I'd like to visit the Asian zone. Not sure which one exactly.

Hmm ... also a difficult question for me, because I stopped counting after my 10th trip to Cherating! It was too embarrassing to answer questions about how many times I'd been there, so I just refused to keep track. I think I must have exceeded 20 by now ... but I've been going to CM since 1994.

Cherating!!! It's a great village - the beach, the rain forest, nice wooden buildings and a train that takes you to the disco at night!

All the ones I haven't been to! Particularly Turks, Columbus, Paradise Island, Otranto - the ones which everyone talks about!!

BTW, when choosing a village now, I tend to enquire who is the CDV and will decide for or against the village I have in mind.
With a confirmed chef who had good (and maybe difficult) villages so far, you can be almost sure the GO team is professional as well. It's not a guarantee, but still, a good start. Then, the ambiance depends a lot of the GMs, of course. And as well all know, they do change every or every second week.

There was a village in St George Bermuda in the late 80's or early 90's it was the old Lowes hotel at the top of the hill. Its still there and unused as of June 2004 the last time I was in Bermuda --

C'est Bon Pour Le Moral!

It (Bermuda Club) was open in the late 80s.. probably 88 & 89. We were there in fall of 88, I believe. I understand CM closed it because the Bermuda government wanted CM to keep it open year-round but with the cool weather there in winter, it just didn't make sense. CM tried to reopen it in the mid-late 90s, but I'm not sure if it ever did open at all. It was called "St George's Cove", because it was near the town of St George. That was our first Club (16 since then)

My favorite had to be Playa Blanca for New Year's 1995. i was with my younger brother, college friends and even a high school friend. I slept on the beach with a new "friend" only to be woken up by her father kicking sand on us...luckily we were clothed! :)

Cancun has my favourite sports [wski, trapeze, snorkle]. Playa is post card perefect. Sandpiper has everything but the ocean. Eleuthera's beach and fantastic wski. Paradise had "Atlantis" nearby and "clay" tennis courts. Turkoise has great "vibe", Jojo and Daniel-need I say more.

Every visit had great GOs and friendly GMs. A vacation as it should be!

I started going to Club Med in about 81 or 82 and went for about 4 times to Moorea which was the most amazing place in the 80's..Not a family in sight. The best holidays ever imaginable with in the most idyllic surroundings. I doubt Club Med will be like that again.. Good memories though..

Wow! I was a GM in at least four villages long before I was a G. O. After that I was a GO for 6 years.

My GM days were in the 70’s, and I went to all singles villages, and yes, it’s just as the legend says, ANYTHING GOES, and ANYTHING went…) I was in Martinique, before (I heard) they closed it down for those very reasons.

I am a CM addict for the past 9 years, but have only been to the ones in Turkey so far :(((((
I have been to Palmiye 15 times (7 years in row, twice a year each time),
and Kemer for the past 2 years... Only this season i have been to Kemer 4 times :)))) and more to come... so last year and this year 8 times to Kemer which makes 23 times in total!!!!

i can't compare Kemer with any other villages but i'd probably say the same thing...

Close to 20 trips: Paradise Island(3), Huatulco (numerous), Cancun (numerous), Turks (1), and Punta Cana (1). PC was the last visit in 5/06 because Cancun was closed.

Favorite was Huatulco. It was the first with my girlfriend and just a great and beautiful place and met some of the nicest GOs and GMs. Paradise Island-great for tennis. Cancun-also a great place and very easy to get to from Chicago which is why we go there a lot.

Place I would like to go: Not sure but maybe in the Mediterranean.

Magic Isle, Eleuthera, Paradise Island a few times, Sandpiper a few times, Cancun, Turks. I used to be a travel agent, so I saw some other clubs too, without staying there - Martinique and Bali.

What village is your favorite?

They all have different things going for them, but I love Turks for the snorkeling, circus, and beach. When Paradise Island was open, you could fly right out of West Palm Beach, where we live, to the little Paradise Island airport, then it was 5 minutes to the club. We could be at the club less than 3 hours after leaving home, so it made for a great long weekend. I loved the old colonial feel of that club. We are only an hour's drive from Sandpiper, so I've been there a few times, but it's not really my favorite, and too close to home!

We have just come back from our very first CM Lindeman Island (23rd June 07 arrived home) and loved it. We loved it so much that we have already started planning our next trip.

Who has been to Phuket and if so what was it like?
What's the best time to go to Phuket?

I started at Club Med in 1984. I started in the jungle at Playa Blanca and got certified open water CMAS diver. Then I ventured over to Martinique and learned about picnics and clothing optional beaches. I turned back to Mexico to Cancun, saw Tulum and the girl's bedroom. Enjoyed the Carribean and went to Turks, loved Jo Jo the dolphin, and partying with NY girls. Tried the local fair at Sandpiper, family friendly. And lastly ended up back in Mexico, at Ixtapa where it's hot hot hot.

The question could also be: how long as well as how many. I've been to a club Med at least once a year for 32 years. Shortest stay was two weeks and longest 2 months. Actually comes out to about 110 weeks. Xtapa when it was an adult club, Cancun many times when it was adult, Turks only once, Eleuthera when it was adult and the rest Tahiti. Every year there was a club in Bora Bora since 1976. 6-8 weeks a yr in Bora now divided between 2 trips.

It's a cool place and club is nice.

Both to Punta Cana in 2006 and 2007 and we leave in 2 weeks for our 3rd trip there (but I'll have to say the price increases this year are making a fourth trip look bleak).

But we love the Club Med way of vactioning.

I have stayed at Corfu-Ispos (1985), Punta Cana (2004, 2006) & Cancun (2008). I have been to La Caravelle (1999), but not overnight, so it really does not count, but it has one of the nicest beaches that I have ever been to.

What village is your favorite?
Marrakech la Palmeraie, lovely village with lots of water and flowers, really nice rooms and the food is great!

Which villages would you want to go to someday?
Well, my list is too long! But my top 3 villages i want to go to are Kani, Albion and Punta Cana.

How many times were you in club med? 12 I think, from 1996 onwards

When was the last time you were there? April 2009

What villages have you visited? Kos (11 times! So sad it's closing for renovations) Cherating Beach

Favourite Village: Well Kos has great memories, however due to the seting, tranquility and service (with good memories,) Cherating would be tops.

Looking forward to Gregolimano in July 2010! :)

What village is your favorite? That's a tough one. In Magic Haiti I had a very, very good
time, but also in Paradise Island and la Pointe aux Canonniers. Good second ones are:
Palmiye, Yasmina, Kamarina, Coral Beach. Too bad Magic Haiti and Paradise Island are
closed. Magic Haiti is understandable but that Club Med has sold Paradise Island (to the
neighbouring Atlantis hotel, of all places!) is a downright mistake !

Which villages would you want to go to someday? Columbus Isle, definitely.

Coming up soon, only 41 nighties of sleeping: Cap Skirring, looking forward to it !

2 weeks ago in Cancun. :) (or should I say :( because I'm not there anymore)

That's a tough one. Cancun was amazing but I grew up in Coral Beach... I'd still have to say Cancun though

Turks because so many people are talking about it. Kemer because it's adults only. Basically anything that's adult only and has a beach. :)

Come on Kiki, how many different clubs (open or closed) have you been to? I know calling one your favorite is almost impossible because the people there can make it your best vacation.

In the beginning, I always changed villages. Now, I tend to return to the one(s) I really like... like La Pointe aux Canonniers.
But hey, Albion will be the next one.

But chrisbo in particular and some other CMPers beat me, I am sure.

We overlap on three-Turks, Phuket, and La Caravelle. Of those three, Phuket was probably my best vacation, followed by two of my three trips to La Caravelle.

I remember sitting around the pool at night in Phuket drinking a glass of red wine and watching the steam rise off of the pool, thinking to myself, it can't get any better than this. That feeling continued into Bangkok.

The best group of GO's I have seen at any club was at La Caravelle and I am reminded of that every day when I look at the 12 inch (33cm)by 10 inch (26cm) post card on the wall that has messages from 7 GO's.

I went to CM every Spring for seven straight years before I got married - it's has been awhile - would be great to go as a family to Sandpiper
