That might be the option for those a bit tired of Cancun and Turks being the only adult villages in the N.A. zone -- I am going to do a little homework on the villages on the Atlantic side, I have enough miles banked and could care less if everyone speaks english...

OK two requests here...

I went to CM Mare Nostrum in 2002 and had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful village where you can truly relax; however, it does not offer as many sport activities as Cancun, Turks, etc. The spa seemed to be the main focus of this village and, in other posts, I have read that you need to book some spa treatments before you arrive. The pool area was very nice; the beach was limited.

The GO team at the time was mostly in their 20s. I also met many wonderful GMs, they were mostly couples in their 30s - 50s. I do not remember seeing any kids. The main language was French and only a handful of people were comfortable speaking in English. Feel free to e-mail me with specific questions. :-)

Hi CMDreamer

Is there any night life at the club? What time of year did you go - would I better off going the beginning of June - Do the GO's speak eng;ish - were there any Amerixans when you were there> I'm nervous now that I made a mistake and there wil not be much to do. I would be traveling alone, should I go to Kos even though it's a family village?

I apoliogize if my e-mail is disjointed.

Susan

When I was there, the nightclub was pretty low-key most nights -- I'm not sure if it's still there. I had a great time with the friends I made, but there weren't a lot of structured activities that happened after the show and crazy signs that week. I think they had karaoke one night. A good-sized crowd was always around the bar close to dinnertime and before the show.

I was the only American when I was there in May 2002. A few of the GOs spoke some English and they helped me when I couldn't understand something in French. I spent most of the time trying to speak and understand French. Some of the GOs and GMs spoke other languages too, including Greek, Italian, Spanish and German.

At a more adult-oriented village like Mare Nostrum or a family village like Kos, there may not be a lot of young single GMs. The GOs will still probably be pretty young. Mare Nostrum didn't seem to have the singles crowd Cancun or Turks does. There may be other villages in Europe that cater more to adult singles/solo travelers.

As a solo traveler in my 20s, I still had a fantastic time at this Club Med. They always say Club Med is what you make of it -- whether you decide to go to Mare Nostrum or Kos, I think you will have a great time. :-)
