The Resort

A resort at the foot of the slopes with a warm and welcoming family atmosphere, and an extra touch of authenticity added by a number of antique objects from the Savoie region.

Club Med Baby Welcome will make sure your little ones feel right at home. While the younger ones frolic in the Snow Garden and teenagers learn the technical skills of skiing and snowboarding under the supervision of their instructors, you can hurtle down the 403 miles of slopes winding their way through the fir trees on the vast Portes du Soleil ski area, which takes you all the way into Switzerland.

Avoriaz is much more than a skiing resort.

The area on which it was built used to belong to the infamous Chablais family. Given to the community of Morzine, it became ROVOREE. After the loss of the first sylable it became "Avorée", to progresively be known as Avoriaz.

With its wooden walls and warm roofs, these ancient chalets are the history of this old pasture where farming was the only activity, with some people braving the thick snow in the winter just for the pleasure of skiing down those mountains.
