Club Med Cherating Beach

Looking at going in 2017, however, there seems to be some vague mentionings of a renovation been due at Cherating. Does anyone know if this is correct and if it is then how big a renovation will it be? I don't want to book there is half the village is been renovated while we are there.

I was just reading on Trip Adviser that the Chef de Village responded to a reviewer who stayed this month that renovation (probably of the rooms) will soon begin. I don't know what "soon" means. I wouldn't let that dissuade me from going. It is a beautiful club, but hot and humid. Don't go December, January because that is the rainy season.

The latest I have heard is that works are due for April. I rang CM Australia and they said they did not have a date but they did tell me that it will be a full Village closure ala Bintan. Anyone have any other news on a firm date or how long the works will take?
