Starting Sunday night Club Med Cherating experienced heavy down pouring until Wednesday night, causing heavy flooding along the roads leading to the airport from Kemaman to Kuantan. Right outside of the resort experienced heavy flooding. NO cars, trucks or buses were able to get through by Wednesday morning. Kuantan was very flooded, needing to evacuate the city 5000-6000 people. Kemaman evacuated 1000+ pax.Dec

The power station for the resort is located in Kemaman. Because it was under water there was no electricity (except common areas run by generator power) in the rooms of guests and GOs. This meant there was no AC or hot water as well in the resort. All activities were shut down, and GMs stayed in village center under cover. No GMs could arrive or leave until Thursday. Many had to stay longer until Friday because of flight availability.
Power returned Thursday morning. It is still raining but not as heavily.
Where we can we will open activities.
Arrivals restart tomorrow.
