Nannies available for young babies?

Hi all,

I am hoping to go to Club Med Cherating Beach with my wife and two of our friends in October/November this year. I was hoping to make it mid-November so that our new baby will be just 4 months old and able to go in the Club Med Baby Club, but it is looking too difficult to get time off work, so may have to do October.

I have seen the odd person talk about nannies being available for babysitting (outside of Club Med), and I wondered if anyone knew whether or not it would be possible to do this for very young infants like at 3 months of age, or whether it would be far too complicated.

Of course we would be hoping to spend a lot of the time with the kids (the other couple would have an 11 month old), but it would be nice to have a few times when the adults could just relax for a while.

Does anyone know anything about the nanny situation in these places? It would be a shame that we wouldn't be able to use the Baby Club (I suppose the nanny would just have to be in the room?). May have to do a big rethink of the whole holiday, but anyway would very much appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks.

mrukk,
I can't help you on that specific question. If I were you, I would call the club med reservation center and see if they know. You could also email the club at Cherating, but I would call first.

You are probably aware, but November is near the start of the rainy season, so October would be a better time.

It's a beautiful club with terrific food. I hope you get a chance to visit.

Thanks John. I will give the reservation center a call. I would still be very keen to hear if anyone has any first hand experiences, as I guess I am not sure how much the reservation people will either know or be prepared to say about things that might be slightly outside of the operating parameters of the club. I didn't manage to find an email for this club, but there does seem to be a direct phone number on the web site, so perhaps I could try that as well.

Appreciate the help. I am aware of the rainy season... just a nightmare trying to come to some compromise between thinking about the rainy season, the limited times I can take off work, the Malaysian school holidays, and the age of our child and access to babysitting/baby clubs. Fun and games anyway, but I'm certain we will end up there one way or the other! :)
