Hey newbie,
Congratulations! I can't give you a lot of detail specific to Cherating, but here's a start, anyway:
1. Bring lots of white, both for the daytime (bottoms) and evening. Bring something 'elegant' for the evening. Also bring black, plus other colors, like red, blue, green or beige, etc. Since Cherating is in the Asian zone, you might have an Asian dress code one night per week. Often the dress codes depend on the evening's shows, so if you have a Western themed show, for example, then you'll probably have a Western (cowboys) dress code. Ask your HR contact if they can give you a list. Also, you won't be allowed to wear flip flops, and since it's hot there, I'd try to find some other daytime footwear options so you're not stuck wearing shoes and socks in the heat!
2. Definitely bring your own laptop!! ...Otherwise you will probably only have access to one computer, which you will share with the entire GO team.
4. Normally, GOs are in 1 primary department for each 6 month contract, but since you're doing a training there, I don't know if that applies to you. I imagine you should be able to find out beforehand. In any case, even a GO only working in 1 department for 6 months will gain some familiarity with the other departments. For example, a sports GO will learn some about the reception and traffic from helping with arrivals and departures, and some about the animation department from participating in shows, event setups, etc.
Anyway, have fun! I have friends in the sport, reception and finance teams in Cherating, and they're all really nice, so I'm sure it's a great team!
