I have a friend who is there since Saturday. Eventhough she sent faxes to Cherating (she is a "priviledged" GM).. she has got a room far away from the center and she wrote me that it seems that her room was not even "refreshed" when they refurbished the whole Club...

So.. don't worry before you get there, and talk to the CdV is you are not satisfied.

Hi HSC

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the layout of the village, but basically think of it as 2 wings with the main area in the centre. In the main area, you have the bar, restaurant, theatre, pool, boutique, spa, and some sports facilities.

All the sections are linked by a continuous wooden walkway that runs all the way from one end to the other end of the village.

On one wing, you have blocks A-F which are arranged in somewhat of a rough "U" shape so that blocks F and A are somewhat the nearest to the main areas. On the other wing, you have Blocks G - O (? P?) which roughly stretch out in one long row.

Naturally, the blocks which are furthest from the main areas are the quietest, but the downside is that you have to walk quite far to get to the main areas. If you cut across the lawn, it's faster, but at night, you may not want to do so. Consider also if you have to walk back and forth a few times in a day.

I would suggest you ask for a room in Block F, but not the ground level. That should be convenient and not noisy at the same time. Also Block F rooms are superior rooms, so you don't have to pay extra for them. It is also close to the place where you take the shuttle to the beach, so you can nip back to the room for your sunblock easily!

Hope this helps.

When i was in Cherating last year, they were painting and doing some maintenance works at the A-F wing rooms. Hopefully, they are completed by now.

Personally i prefer the other wing nearer the main entrance where the blocks "jut" towards the sea. The Blocks "south" of the basketball / volleyball courts are nice too.

You can check out the Village map at
http://www.clubmed.com.sg/cherating/villagemap.php .

Blocks A-F are "north" of the Spa Village.
