Club Med Cherating Beach

I 'm hesitating bertween kani and cherating for next august , what do u think?

Umm .. maybe if you could let us know your interests (ie. scuba? relaxation? circus? shopping?) and whether you are travelling with family, alone etc, then we can help you with our 2 cents worth.

It's fun planning a holiday even though it's not my own!

Have been to both. While I love Cherating I'd go with Kani in a heart beat. You can't go past the Maldives. It was the most amazing place I have been to.

I haven't been to Cherating but Kani was the best holiday we'd ever had. Some days we were really busy - sailing, diving, snorkelling, pool games, and other days we laid under the palm trees with our books, taking a dip in the gorgeous warm sea with just the odd interruption for lunch or a cocktail at the bar. Accommodation and ambiance is wonderful.

I'd be a lot more tempted by Kani. But then, it's still not on the very top of my list.
Also, I think, the crowd in Kani is more mixed (nation wise) than in Cherating. All GMs I've ever met that have been to Kani just loved it.

I'd also enquire about the weather situation. I think August is the start of the rainy season in Kani...

Thats funny I'm going to Kani and Cherating in August too!! See you there. Cherating is beautiful, but I've never been to Kani. I've got friends at both places., which is why i chose those villages. Theres no much of a rainy season in tropical SE Asia, even tho summer is technically the rainy season. I've been teh past r5 yrs in a row and havent had more then 3 days of rain total. :)

I've been to both resorts.

Kani - expect it to be wet since it is the monsoon.
if u're into scuba diving - visibility is not as great as you will expect. tho you can still dive. Plenty of plankton during this period - i got to see mantra rays without diving !

Cherating -expect plenty of sunshine.
It has a long beach where you can find plenty of secluded spots for peace and quiet.
They've renovated the club recently and place if full of green and clean.

If it were me, I would prefer to go Cherating in August. save Kani for the less wet months - esp if you want plenty of sunshine and going scuba diving / snorkelling.

Vinz: Thats a good thing to note actually, thanks for the reminder. i wonder if i should go to bali instead. oF course I will stick with cherating cuz the weather is absolutely gorgeous in august. Bali might be drier then Kani so that might be a good idea! Thanx
