Opio is what I'd call a country club rather than a typical CM resort.
It's away from the Mediterranean Sea, so you don't have the beach activities. They did have a shuttle down to the beach and even beach activties, when they opened (in the late 80s), but that's has gone for a long time already.
While you have some nice excursions (expensive as always though) to do in that charming area, you're kind of stuck in the village, if you don't have a car with you (which most French do).
While I've been to the village some three times in the very beginning, I don't go back anymore. It has become kind of expensive and I miss the beach activities, although there's a compact but tricky 9 hole golf in the resort itself and a nice 18 hole nearby (Golf de la Grande Bastide) which is owned by the club. I think, it's fine to relax, for the spa, some tennis and golf.
A real negative thing are the business incentives there. You can find yourself with half the village filled with business people knowing nothing about the club and its etiquette, behaving like stupids and getting all the advantages like best rooms, best area in the restaurant, etc.
This is really what had put me off with that village.

I don't suggest to go there July/August. Too hot. The area around the pool (almost no shade) must be packed. It's ok for one week in late April/May/June or September. October is too late IMO. You can get rain and it starts getting cool.
The only breathtaking thing is really the view from the village over the hilly countryside and the Mediterranean Sea.
