Club Med Cherating Beach

The Club Med Office told me that Cherating will be closed on 01 Nov 2005 and will reopen on 25 Jan 2006.

What happends to the GOs ? I think there may be three possibilities.

Case One
GOs have a short holiday (eg say one week) and then go to other Club Med villages in Asia. According to the contract, usually a GO works in a village for one season or two seasons. That means the GOs will work in new villages in Nov or Dec and stay in the new villages for a season. Consequently, the GO team of Cherating in Jan 2006 will be completely different from the GO team now.

Case Two
Cherating GOs will temporarily work in other villages for a few months only. They can go back to Cherating in Jan 2006. In this Case, the Cherating GO team will be composed of new comers and old GOs.

Case Three
Cherating GOs go back home and have long long holiday (with or without salary). Then go back to Cherating in Jan 2006.

Which one is major ?
Or there is the fourth and fifth one ?

why are they closed during xmas and new year?

they are closed because it rains too much and they are worried about flooding

Is there by any chance quite a number of Go's that were positioned at Cherating will stay put??

Most GOs go home until Cherating opens again, some take a short term contract at other villages. Most of my friends go home though. And then some will return for the new season in January.

Sorry, bad news for you. Current circus team won't be at Cherating when the next season starts. Paul is going to Phuket, Rhys is going to Bali... as I remember, but I might get mixed up a bit because many GOs were telling me where they were going next. As for Tim, he wants to go to Phuket, but it's still not sure. Hopefully he will get where he wants to go on the last day.

Oh..I thought that Paul will b going to Ria Bintan or sumthing liddat???Oh..meaning that there is no chance at all that the will be at Cherating..Btw..they only change during Every start of the year??Or do they like change in mid year as well??

Im not too sure how exactly each season is devided. kinda depends I guess. However, I think you can call up Bintan, or Bali or Phuket CM to ask some time next month. I am sure you can find out which one Paul will be at. I got a bit mixed up with which CM each GO is going to sorry. One thing Im quite sure is that Paul will still be in one of the CM in south east asia.

Paul is going to Ria Bintan and is exited about that tim still dosent know hopefully we will know before he comes home! GO's leave throughout the season for various reasons (personal) but usually contracts are for a year unless training then it is 6 months.

Steven (sailing) from Mauritius has been there for only some 4 weeks, so most of you may not know him.
He goes back home to Mauritius and will possibly go to Bali later this season.
