I went to rio das pedras last september for 3 weeks and the wheather was not realy good ( cloudy, lot of rain for all day long ).

Fortunately the geo team was great so if you don't look for the sun and hot temperature that should be a great choice.

Not much a teenager can't do there. they have boat skiing (and they do teach you). they have kayaking, indoor tennis. the weather is like most in Brasil ALOT of moisture and somewhat hot. But in August you should have no problems. Take something warm just in case. the weather could be bad, and it could be nice. But no matter what it is truly paradise in Rio das Pedras. Have a wonderful time.
