GOs have to pay with their bar books.

However, of course GMs like us always try to get them free drinks.

The idea is not to over do it and be discreet about it rather than getting a round of tequilla shots for say 5 GOs a the same time!

You know, play it by ear...I've had GOs who said they didn't want the free drink, and of course others who blatantly asked whether I could get them something!

Been to Otranto all-inc this summer and as far as I could see GOs do have to pay for their drinks but bar GOs will very often not charge them if they are having water or other soft drinks (ssshhhh I don't think they were actually allowed to not charge...)
As for buying drinks for the GOs...not that GMs actually bought the drinks, but yeah we could get drinks for the GOs...

I don't know if these are the rules but this is what happened there this summer!

Stimpy...the GMs don't have ticket books, but the GOs do. They have to use them in order to get a drink for themselves...but if you as a GM want to "buy" them a drink, just go up to the bar and get one for them....just try not to advertise what you're doing. It's a no-no, but you won't go to CM jail for it. LOL

Bar tickets are not valid at All-inclusive villages now, even if you have some over from a previous village. Turkoise was one of the 1st villages to go all-incl. I believe anyway. Drinks, except VSOP/champagne etc. will be included in your rate. As Annie says, in theory GO's are supposed to get their own drinks...but the odd 1 or 2 discreetly done will, I'm sure, be fine.

There is another thread about the all-inclusive villages and GO drinks if you want to scroll back through the pages and get some more info. Can't remember the title sorry....

We were at Turks during the summer and my friend gave his old Bar tickets to some GO's and they were fine. In fact he bought a few books to give to his scuba GO friends.

the GO's at turks were using GM style bar books. (i guess the club has several million of them printed and didn't want to throw them away) i didn't see any of the old staff books around although i guess they might still take them. a tickets a ticket. i didn't bother to take any old books with me. i never drink alone at the bar especially since it's free.

Stimpy - yes you can use those tickets. They will accept them, if you have any problems I told you who to go to there and he will help you.

Depends on the CDV. My last 3 CMs, I openly bought GO drinks and it was OK. Depends on the Village and the CDV.

At the all-inclusive European/African villages I've visited, bar tickets were not valid for either GO's or GM's. Seem to remember everyone had to use the card system...its even written in the UK brochure. I guess, like everything with CM....rules for the NA zone and rules for the rest of the world!

Whatever you decide to do Stimpy, I'm sure you will still be able to get your fave GO's a drink or two, esp if you've been told as much by people who have visited Turks. Have fun...
